oCTOBER 2014 – Opulent Living Travel expert Anke had a chance to visit several amazing lodges in Tanzania.
Her highlight was the stay at Singita Lodge Faru Faru in the Grumeti concession, with 350 000 acres, an integral part of the Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem and the home of the Great Migration.
Anke experienced unforgettable game viewing in September and found the Serengeti is worthwhile visiting the whole year around, not only during the migration period. Her sightings of lions, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants and antelopes have been just mind-blowing. The diversity, the colours of nature, the breathing space and freedom, guests can discover here a pure uniqueness. Visitors can choose to go on a horse ride through the wilderness or use the open landrovers. The lodge, Faru Faru consists of 9 spacious suites, decorated in organic, earthy colours, the views into the Grumeti area are fantastic. Without a doubt Singita is the place to find superb service and mouth-watering cuisine.
For more adventurous guests, Anke highly recommends the “&Beyond – Serengiti under Canvas” experience. This is a mobile tented camp with seven luxuriously equipped safari tents and two family tents, which moves approximately five times a year within the Serengeti, to bring the guests as close as possible to memorable game viewing experiences. Anke was surprised with the size and standard of the safari tents, everything was thought of and every detail was in place, even a flush toilet is installed.
The rangers will make sure you experience thrilling game activities during your stay and the well trained food and beverage team will spoil the guests with freshly prepared meals around the campfire. A real out-of-Africa experience in the middle of the African bush!
